During orientation period at Bahamas Community College, students will attend a series of workshops, seminars, and social activities where they are presented information on BCC, support centers, services, facilities, testing, and placement. Students are also presented with BCC policies and regulations, and will be introduced to College personnel where they are assigned an academic advisor who will assist them throughout the year. BCC encourages students to build sustaining relationships with key faculty and staff members who may be instrumental in retention, mentoring and support. Registration is also an integral component of the orientation program. The objective of the orientation period is to provide students with information that will help them cope with the independence and responsibility of becoming a college student.
